The Ethos

We believe in being kind to ourselves, each other, and the planet. Self-care is so important but it is often difficult to balance indulgence with responsible and ethical products. It's so easy to buy big brands that choosing to support local, independent businesses is a conscious choice. 

Here at The Yorkshire Wellness Box, the aim is to bring unique tools for self-care directly to you from small, independent suppliers based here in Yorkshire. A thriving community and local economy is so important and our business is proud to be able to support other businesses just like us. We buy from local people who are making a difference, developing their businesses whilst retaining strong ethical principles. Our choice of products has been developed to give you the opportunity to give great gifts whilst helping to protect the environment and support the best of Yorkshire. From simply tea and chocolate, mini relaxation and eco-bathroom kits, to a big, proper pamper gift, we have the perfect, thoughtful gift for pampering with the extra feel good factor.

To combat climate change we cannot carry on with “business as usual”. It is a mammoth task to transform our society, to mobilise to save the planet, but every action counts. By choosing local we can reduce transport emissions and by choosing natural products we can reduce harmful toxins in the environment.

We have chosen products which can make a difference.
Every product we sell; 
  • is vegan and cruelty free
  • is plastic free
  • is made with natural and sustainable ingredients, organic when possible.
  • contains no petrochemicals, palm oil, SLS, parabens or other toxic ingredients
We use recycled and recyclable packaging. Our ”plastic” bags are compostable and made of potato starch.

A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Tracey; mum of 5 and founder of The Yorkshire Wellness Box.

My aim has been to find local Yorkshire businesses that care about the things I care about and whose products I am proud to represent. Being connected to people who are striving to make a difference is a great positive place to be and it certainly gives me hope for all our futures. The things we need for a plastic-free, animal-friendly, zero waste future are here now. We have the internet to enable us to connect and collaborate. People have already trodden the path we may wish to follow.

In creating The Yorkshire Wellness Box I intend to help local, ethical businesses to thrive and grow and create meaningful work for people to do. World domination and millionaire status is not the aim! It can be difficult to make ethical choices on very limited incomes so I do aim to make a profit but make conscious consumerism accessible to all.
